Japanese Cuisine

Fascination with Japanese cuisine usually begins with trying sushi – a traditional Asian dish consisting of rice, seaweed, and raw pieces of fish. Delighted by this original dish, we embark on a further journey to distant corners of the world in search of equally delicious and filling offerings. Along the way, we may come across Japanese rice sandwiches (onigiri), surimi salad, udon noodles, tempura vegetables, and the increasingly popular ramen. We encourage you to reach for food products typical of this region of the world. There's plenty to choose from!

Japanese cuisine from... the kitchen

What makes Japanese dishes so fascinating for us Europeans is primarily access to healthy and unique food products. Traditional meals consist primarily of rice. In our store, you can find various varieties of this grain suitable for meat and vegetable-based dishes, as well as classic sushi. It is said that Japanese cuisine lacks spices. There is some truth to this. The basic additions to dishes include only dried chili pepper, wasabi (green horseradish), pickled ginger, bamboo shoots, white and black sesame seeds, and Sichuan pepper. The pantry of every lover of Asian cuisine should also include food products such as shiitake mushrooms, tofu, dried seaweed, tempura breadcrumbs, miso soybean paste, rice vinegar, or soy sauce.

Japanese food products — choose only from the best

Residents of the Land of the Rising Sun love to diversify their meals with carbonated drinks in unusual variations for us. These include grape soda, the famous Bubble Tea, or melon-flavored yogurt drink. They are refreshing, light, and interesting in terms of flavors that are hard to find on store shelves in our country. Among popular food products, you can also find sweets. We encourage you to try snacks such as Pocky-coated sticks (which have their holiday in Japan!), foam lollipops with sprinkles, or desserts with sticky rice filling.
